The Development Review office provides efficient and effective review, evaluation, & monitoring of all development project activities within the unincorporated areas of Marion County. The office receives, routes, & monitors all development project submittals.

Engineering Services provides a variety of services to Marion County projects including:

• Asset Management services
• Survey services
• Design services
• Right-of-Way Acquisition services
• Construction Inspection services
• Property Management services

Right-of-way (ROW) utilization permits are required for all construction, herbicide/pesticide spraying, tree clearing, & all temporary private use of public right-of-way. A driveway connection permit is required for any development or construction activity accessing county right-of-way.

The Road Maintenance section is focused on providing sound, efficient, & reliable maintenance repairs & enhancements to the county-maintained road system. The division maintains more than 2,900 miles of paved & unpaved roads within Marion County.

The Stormwater Management section manages the administration, engineering, maintenance, regulatory programs, & pollution prevention for stormwater systems in Marion County.

The Traffic Operations section is responsible for traffic operations & engineering. Traffic Operations consists of design, construction and maintenance of signals, signs, & pavement markings. Traffic Engineering consists of design review, safety audits, traffic studies, & evaluating real time levels of service of signals & roadways through the Traffic Management Center.
