Run for the Springs 2024
Join us for our annual Run for the Springs 5k! For the first time ever, we will race at the Carney Island Recreation Area in Ocklawaha on April 27. All proceeds from the race are available to Marion County residents in the form of septic maintenance reimbursement grants. Interested participants can register online, and the registration fee is only $30. We hope to see you there!

Septic-to-Sewer Program
To reduce the contamination of our aquifer and waterways, Marion County is implementing a septic-to-sewer conversion program. This program will help keep septic tanks from polluting our water table and the springs that make Marion County such a picturesque place to live, as well as offering several additional benefits to our citizens. The Marion County Litter Task Force was created to educate & change the mindset of those negatively impacting our community. We've taken their suggestions & partnered with local businesses to keep Marion County beautiful.

Penny Sales Tax
The renewed sales tax will generate an estimated $196 million in revenue. This will fund even more public safety & infrastructure improvements. As our community grows, roads need to grow to accommodate additional traffic. Public safety departments will build new facilities & purchase more public safety vehicles & equipment.
