The UF/IFAS Marion County Extension Service is a cooperation between the Marion County Board of County Commissioners and the University of Florida, and is funded by both. Extension agents who are experts in their fields compose the staff and work to “extend” the research and resources of the university to Marion County residents through educational programs and services in the following areas.

4-H Youth

Nearly 1,000 Marion County children and teens belong to over 40 4-H clubs that vary in specialty from horses to archery. 4-H’s mission is to create supportive environments for youth to reach their full potential. Youth ages 5-18 can become involved in 4-H through joining a local club or special-interest group, enrolling in a camp, or by participating in a 4-H school enrichment program.
